Troy Lee Designs Stage Stunt is a new helmet for the 2026 season, weighing 550 g and the only helmet in the Stage family to carry NTA 8776 certification, required for high-speed e-bikes. The design is based on the full-face Stage, but ditches the chin bar in favour of an open 3/4 format with adjustable cheek pads and a Dri-lex neck roll in three positions.
The weight difference compared to the existing Stage is significant: 550 g versus 690 g, a saving of 140 g while retaining three shell sizes (XS-SM, MD-LG, XL-XXL). TLD achieved this by switching the shell material to fibre-reinforced polycarbonate and simplifying the impact liner to a two-layer EPS without the EPP layer found in the full-face model.

MIPS Integra Fuse instead of MIPS C2
The Stage Stunt features a newer version of the rotational protection system: MIPS Integra Fuse. The Integra Fuse system integrates the slip plane directly into the EPS liner, allowing the helmet to be thinner while maintaining protection against rotational impacts. The full-face Stage continues to use MIPS C2.
NTA 8776 certification and ventilation: Stage Stunt vs Stage
Stage (full-face) | Stage Stunt (3/4, 2026) | |
|---|---|---|
Weight | 690 g | 550 g |
Shell | Polylite + fibre | Polycarbonate + fibre |
Shell sizes | XS-SM, MD-LG, XL-XXL | XS-SM, MD-LG, XL-XXL |
MIPS | C2 | Integra Fuse |
Liner | EPS + EPP (dual-density) | EPS dual-density |
Ventilation | 11 inlets, 14 outlets | 9 inlets, 13 outlets |
Certifications | CPSC 1203, CE EN1078, ASTM F1952, ASTM F2032, AS/NZS 2063 | CPSC 1203, CE EN1078, AS/NZS 2063, NTA 8776 (e-bike) |
Buckle | no data in source | Fidlock magnetic |
Visor | Breakaway (shear bolts) | 3 positions, goggle-compatible |
The Stage Stunt holds NTA 8776 certification, the Dutch standard for e-bike helmets approved for speeds up to 45 km/h, which the full-face Stage does not carry. At the same time, the Stage Stunt has not been certified to ASTM F1952 (downhill) or ASTM F2032 (BMX), which is logical given the absence of a chin bar. The Fidlock magnetic buckle is a solution familiar from Specialized and POC helmets, making it easy to unfasten one-handed while wearing gloves.
