Cannondale Moterra family character
Moterra is a full-suspension e-MTB family, not one bike with a fixed specification. The standard Moterra is the all-terrain option. Moterra SL combines full-power assistance with lower weight and agility, LT prioritises more travel and rough descents, while EQ adds utility equipment.
Cannondale Moterra versions and generations
In the current standard range, Moterra 1 and 4 have 150 mm frame travel, 160 mm forks and 29-inch wheels; their frame construction and Bosch 800 or 600 Wh batteries differ. Moterra SL 1 is a separate carbon 150/160 mm platform with Shimano EP801, a 601 Wh battery and mixed wheels. LT 1 uses 165/170 mm travel, mixed wheels and an 800 Wh Bosch battery. SL, LT and EQ are branches, not successive generations; older Moterra Neo bikes can be technically different.
What to check before buying a Moterra
Read the full name, model year and model code: Moterra or Moterra Neo alone does not identify a generation. Confirm frame material, travel, both wheel sizes, motor, battery and range-extender compatibility. On EQ, verify that the rack, mudguards, lights and kickstand are included; do not carry SL or LT specifications over to the standard Moterra.
