Specialized Turbo Kenevo family character
Turbo Kenevo is a long-travel e-MTB family for steep, technical terrain, with geometry and suspension focused on descending. The name covers two distinct approaches: the current lighter Kenevo SL aims for more natural handling, while the older Kenevo without the SL suffix prioritised full power. They are not variants with one shared specification.
Kenevo SL 2 and legacy Kenevo versions
Specialized's current family centres on Kenevo SL 2, with a motor rated at 50 Nm and 320 W, a 320 Wh battery and 170 mm travel. The older full-power Kenevo from the 2022–2023 seasons used a 90 Nm, 565 W motor, 700 Wh battery and 180 mm travel. Comp, Expert and S-Works levels also differ in components and frame construction.
What to check before buying a Kenevo
First establish whether the offer is for Kenevo SL, Kenevo SL 2 or an older Kenevo without SL. Confirm the motor generation, rated output, battery, travel, frame material and build level. Check battery health, charger, app support, suspension servicing, bearing play and impact marks. Do not compare a lightweight SL price directly with the full-power 700 Wh version.
